A Fresh New Take: the 2016 Nissan Altima Changes
It’s only been three years since Nissan launched the newest generation of the Nissan Altima, and in that time this stylish and sporty midsize sedan has received lots of praise across the board, from drivers and critics alike. It may come as some surprise, then, that the 2016 Nissan Altima changes are actually quite extensive. Nissan continues to set the industry bar higher, and with these newest updates, they’re pushing the midsize sedan to the next level.
The changes to the exterior of the 2016 Nissan Altima make for much more than your basic facelift. It starts with a new fascia, followed by new headlights that wrap further around the body and which feature halogen high beam and projector low beam lights, as well as available LED low beams and LED DRLs on higher trim levels.
The changes continue from front to back, and this year’s model comes with a new grille that takes its cues from the larger Nissan Maxima. The hood and fenders have also been redesigned for a more integrated and aerodynamic effect. Rounding it out is a new bumper, trunk lid, and lower taillights that wrap along the side. You’ll also find sporty new 17-inch and 18-inch wheels, as well as a new Deep Blue Pearl color available.
Step inside and you’ll immediately realize that the 2016 Nissan Altima changes carry over into the cabin, as well. The new seat design wraps comfortably around the driver and passengers, while more soft touch materials and stylish accents throughout the cabin create a more luxurious presence. You’ll also find that the ride is quieter than previous years thanks to the sound deadening engineering and acoustically laminated windshield. Topping off the new cabin is a sleek new leather-wrapped steering wheel and an updated center console that now provides room for mug handles.
The new 2016 Nissan Altima completes its radical mid-cycle refresh with an array of new advanced technologies to make your cabin experience more enjoyable than ever. At the heart of the changes are a new five-inch and available seven-inch infotainment screen in the center stack. This system comes equipped with a more intuitive rendition of the NissanConnect system with navigation, satellite radio, Siri Eyes Free voice recognition, and full smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
